Moody’s Corporation (NYSE:MCO) is pleased to announce that Dr. Richard
Cantor, Chief Risk Officer of Moody’s Corporation and Chief Credit
Officer for Moody’s Investors Service, has been named to the APEC
(Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Business Advisory Council. Dr.
Cantor will be one of the three US business community members on the
Council and will begin his term in 2016.

Dr. Cantor will serve with counterparts from twenty other economies to
advise APEC leaders on issues affecting the Asia-Pacific region. The
APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), created by APEC Leaders in 1995,
consists of three business representatives from each APEC economy chosen
by their respective heads of state. ABAC meets quarterly to discuss
policy recommendations, undertake activities to promote trade and
investment, and reports directly to the APEC Leaders at an annual
dialogue each fall.
As Chief Risk Officer, Dr. Cantor leads Moody’s Corporation’s global
risk management function. He also leads the Credit Policy Group of
Moody’s Investors Service, which provides oversight for credit ratings
methodologies worldwide.
Prior to joining Moody’s in 1997, Dr. Cantor held a variety of positions
at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, including in the Capital
Markets Group and the Discount Window, and was an adjunct professor at
New York University’s and Columbia University’s business schools. He has
also taught Economics at UCLA and Ohio State Universities. He holds BA
degrees in English and Economics from Tufts University and a PhD in
Economics from Johns Hopkins University.
